Heterocyclic compounds play a pivotal role in the pharmaceutical industry due to their diverse biological activities and widespread applications in drug design and development. This review provides an overview of the various synthetic strategies employed for heterocyclic compound formation, their significance in pharmaceuticals, and recent advancements in green chemistry and sustainable synthesis methods. The discussion encompasses classical and modern synthetic approaches, catalytic methodologies, and structure-activity relationships (SAR) of key heterocyclic drugs. Additionally, the review includes analysis techniques such as Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), and Ultraviolet-Visible (UV-Vis) Spectroscopy with graphical representations.
