An extensive and thorough assessment of vildagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that is frequently given for the treatment of type II diabetes mellitus, is provided in this review article. Vildagliptin's pharmacological, pharmaceutical, and analytical features are summarized in great detail in this article. Its method of action is included in the pharmacological profile, which provides a comprehensive understanding of its therapeutic influence. Simultaneously, the study discusses the analytical approaches used to quantify vildagliptin, examining developments in spectroscopic, chromatographic, and other methodologies that guarantee precise and accurate evaluation of the medication in diverse matrices. The aim of this review is to focus on update of determination of Vildagliptin in pharmaceutical preparation used in RP HPLC, HPLTC, UPLC, LC MS, UV- Spectroscopic method.
