Background:- Warts are benign skin growths caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and are generally harmless, but can be unsightly or uncomfortable. They are contagious and most commonly seen in children and teenagers, though they can affect people of any age. Warts are caused by different types of HPV, a virus that infects the skin or mucous membranes. They are very common, with most people experiencing them at some point in their lives. Warts can vary in size, shape, and colour, appearing as rough, grainy bumps on the skin. Common warts, plantar warts (on the feet), and flat warts are some of the types that can occur. Warts can be spread through direct contact with an infected person or indirectly through contact with contaminated objects.
