Fast-dissolving drug delivery systems have emerged as a promising approach for enhancing the solubility and onset of action of poorly water-soluble drugs. This study focuses on the formulation and development of a solid dispersion-based fast-dissolving oral dosage form of an antihistamine drug to provide rapid relief in allergic conditions. Solid dispersions were prepared using hydrophilic carriers to increase the drug's solubility, and these dispersions were subsequently incorporated into fast-dissolving tablets using suitable super disintegrants. The prepared tablets were evaluated for physicochemical properties, disintegration time, dissolution rate, and drug content. Results demonstrated a significant improvement in the dissolution rate of the drug, indicating enhanced bioavailability and a faster therapeutic effect. This approach can be considered effective for improving patient compliance and therapeutic efficiency in the management of allergic reactions.
