A series of 2-hydroxy-2-mercapto-3-formyl quinoline Schiff bases and their corresponding transition metal complexes like cobalt(II), Nickkle(II), copper(II), and zinc(II) were derived from 2,6-diaminopyridine (DAP). The synthesized compounds were characterized by spectral analysis (ESR, IR, 1H-NMR, fab-Mass, UV-Vis, Fluorescence & TGA), the conductance measurements, magnetic moment estimation, and metal estimation have all been determined and discussed. The Schiff bases and their metal complexes were screened for analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic activities. The copper compounds had superior pharmacological activities among all the metal complexes.
