Childhood hearing loss (HL) is a significant public health concern, impacting children's language development, literacy, self-esteem, and social skills. HL can arise due to genetic or environmental factors, manifesting as congenital or acquired. Early identification and intervention are crucial for mitigating its adverse effects. This review highlights the diverse causes of HL in children and explores current screening and diagnostic methods to improve early detection and management.
