Abstract

Normal developments of children are disrupted due to developmental disabilities in childhood and include significant disabilities like learning disabilities and behavioral disorders, with onset before 18 years. These disabilities manifest in childhood and disrupt normal development and behavior with onset before 18 years that affects their academic performance, social interactions, and overall well-being of the children. These neurobehavioral illnesses are characterized as impairments in brain functions that impact a child's behavior, memory, or learning capacity (World Health Organization, 2023). Nakra (2007) highlighted that in India, learning disability and attention deficit disorder are two of the most prevalent developmental issues among typical school-age children (3 % to 10%) and Behavioral Disorders. According to Kauffman (2005), most studies indicate “that between 3% and 10% of children have emotional or behavioral problems.

Learning Disability and Behavior Disorders are often coexisting, creating a complex web of challenges for children and their caregivers and support system. Despite these challenges, with appropriate support and strategies, children can transform their struggles into strengths. This conceptual research article sheds light on the intricate relationship between these conditions of Disabilities, examining their impact, identifying common co-occurring disorders, and exploring effective strategies for support and intervention. Additionally, this article explores the nature of learning disabilities and behavioral disorders, the challenges they present, and effective strategies for supporting children with Learning Disability and Behavior Disorders.
