Lavatera cashmiriana Cambess is an endemic plant of Kashmir Himalayas with abundant ethno-medicinal benefits. This study is the first attempt to validate its traditional claims. Antioxidant activity and antimicrobial activity has been evaluated. The IC50 value calculated for methanol extract in DPPH assay was found to be 113.94 μg/ml as against the standard ascorbic acid at73.44 μg/ml. Total Phenolic Content and Total Flavonoid Content of methanol extract is calculated as 93.5 mg GAE/g and 23.5 QE/g respectively. Methanol extract showed maximum zones of inhibition for all the four strains ranging from 14.3–16.5 mm. The pharmacological activities of plant justified its ethno-pharmacological claims and this plant may perhaps lead to the development of novel therapeutic derivatives from natural source.
