“A Revelation Thought Of Siddha Diagnostic Methodology for Karpa Soorai” (Pcod) - A Review

Abstract

The Siddha system of medicine is the first antediluvian traditional systems of medicine in the worldwide. It has unique methodologies for the diagnosis of all kinds of diseases. In our Siddhar’s Agathiyar, Theraiyar, and Thirumoolar has said that their various text for the disease diagnosis through the Envagaithervukal (Eight fold criterion), Maruthuva Jothidam(medical astrology) and also Pancha PatchiNoikanippu (Bio-rhytham of 5 birds). In spite of, easy to observing these changes, the diagnosis can be made and or these can help as tools in diagnosing a disease.The changes pertaining Envagaithervukal(Eight fold criterion), have been described under disease of Karpasoorai. In our Siddha pathophysiological aspects, symptoms of Karpasoorai have majorly correlated with Poly Cystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD).To consolidate the analysis, comparatively all the information regarding the Karpasoorai in various Siddha diagnostic tools from different Siddha literatures. Examinations of Envagaithervukal in Karpasoorai for diagnosis, prognosis of the diseases mentioned in literatures and published papers were collected, compiled and documented. It will provide the first-hand information about the Siddha diagnostic methodology for Karpasoorai (PCOD) and will act as a guide to diagnose the disease.
