Aim:The study aimed to determine whether photo-biomodulation could accelerate orthodontic tooth movement as an adjunct to conventional fixed orthodontic treatment.
Method and methodology Studies were chosen based on the PICOS criteria outlined in the review protocol. Two reviewers evaluated titles and abstracts to pinpoint potentially eligible studies, and they independently extracted data from the studies that met the criteria. The risk of bias was assessed using the Review Manager (RevMan) Version 5.3 software.
Result The amount of canine retraction and rate of displacement increased significantly, as the time required for complete alignment decreased significantly.
