Abstract
Introduction: In the classical formulation of Vajra Guggulu, each medication contains a combination of chemical components said to have neuroprotective properties. The current study set out to determine the phytochemicals present in Vajra Guggulu through the utilization of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and to assess the therapeutic potential of Vajra Guggulu for managing diabetic neuropathy. Methods: Vajra Guggulu was prepared in accordance with the instructions in the Ayurvedic traditional literature Ras Ratnakar, and the samples were analysed using standard GC-MS technique. Results: According to the GC-MS, Vajra Guggulu contains 43 out of 200 chemical components with pharmacological activity in Diabetic Neuropathy, peripheral vascular, neurological, and metabolic pathways. Due to similar processes causing damage to peripheral nerves, it may also cure hypertensive and vitamin B12 deficient neuropathy. Conclusion: The study shows that Vajra Guggulu has therapeutic potential in treating neuropathy caused by diabetes, hypertension, and vitamin B12 insufficiency.
