One of the newest areas of forensic science is forensic nursing. Those who provide treatment for forensic patients and apply forensic knowledge to the nursing profession are known as forensic nurses. To satisfy the demands of public health, the number of forensic nurses is increasing. Within forensic nursing, there are numerous subspecialties, such as forensic nurse examiner, sexual assault examiner, forensic nurse death investigator, and others. In addition to having a major role in many forensic nursing departments, forensic nurses can be extremely important in the identification, gathering, and preservation of forensic evidence. Even though it is a more recent specialization that is just getting started, it will surely flourish in the future.
