Abstract
Unicystic ameloblastoma, a rare benign odontogenic tumor primarily affecting the mandible, often presents as a painless swelling or radiolucency. This case report highlights the diagnostic journey of a pediatric patient with a mandibular posterior swelling initially misidentified as a common cystic lesion. However, clinical and radiographic evaluations revealed characteristics suggestive of an ameloblastoma. A definitive histopathological analysis confirmed unicystic ameloblastoma. The patient underwent successful surgical removal, with a positive outcome. This case underscores the critical need to include unicystic ameloblastoma in the differential diagnosis of pediatric mandibular swellings, emphasizing the importance of early detection, accurate diagnosis, and timely intervention to prevent complications and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
