Abstract
Each woman's experience of being pregnant is unique. As she enters this new phase of her life, she faces a number of challenges and potential problems. When a mother delivers her child safely, motherhood is a wonderful experience. In order to create an environment that facilitates safe motherhood and childbirth, communities and families must provide care, attention, skilled personnel, adequate health care facilities, medicines and equipment as well as emergency care in times of need. In order to ensure a safe delivery of the baby, nurses should monitor the mother during pregnancy as well as provide information about possible complications and preventions in order to ensure a healthy development of the fetus and to identify risk factors that may affect pregnancy.(1)
