Abstract

Ischemic Heart Disease prevails to be a major public health problem in the developed countries and also becoming an increasingly important problem in developing countries. Quantification method of an alysing platelet function can be an early risk marker for at hero thrombosis and act as a nearly and reliable marker for accurate diagnosis of ACS for patients attending the emergency department. Mean Platelet Volume (MPV), is a simple and easy method of accurately assessing the platelet function.  Diabetes, hypertension, smoking, dyslipidemia were additional risk factors in the development of ACS. MPV was found to be significantly elevated in participants with dyslipidemia when compared to participants with normal lipid profile.
