Abstract

Dengue illness remains a significant clinical and public health challenge globally. More than 2.5 billion people in the tropics and subtropics are at risk of infection and an estimated 390 million dengue infections occur annually in around 125 countries worldwide. Increases in the incidence of dengue outbreaks are seen during the monsoon and post-monsoon seasons.
