Abstract
Introduction: The aim of the planned teaching on first aid management is to reduce further complications which are occurred due to inappropriate first aid management.
Aim of the Study: To assess the effectiveness of planned teaching on knowledge regarding first aid management of minor injuries among teachers from selected schools of Pune city.
Material and Method: Quantitative research approach and Quasi experimental pre-test post-test control group research design was used. 120 primary school teachers were selected through Purposive Sampling Technique. Data was collected through Self-Structured Questionnaire. In the main data collection, the tool was given to samples as a pre-test to solve and on 7th day post-test was done and analysis was done by using Chi-square & T-test.
Result: The study shows that, in experimental group, before administration of the planned teaching, majority of 63.3% Primary School Teachers had average knowledge while in Post-Test, majority of 96.66% Primary School Teachers had good knowledge. In control group majority primary school teachers had average knowledge before 88.3% and after 86.7% and there was no association found between pre-interventional knowledge and specific demographic variables.
Conclusion: It proved that knowledge of primary school teachers improved after administration of planned teaching regarding first aid management of minor Injuries among primary school teachers. So, it shows that the planned teaching was effective to improve knowledge regarding first aid management of minor injuries among primary school teachers.
