Abstract
Novel Co(II) and Cu(II) transition metal complexes were synthesized from the Schiff base ligand obtained from condensation of Cinnamaldehyde and 4-phenylthiosemicarbazone in acidic media, and further characterized using CHNS elemental and spectral techniques including, UV/Vis, FT-IR, TGA and SEM. The complexes were typical four coordinated square plannar geometry. In addition, the biological activity was tested by conducting in-vitro anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-enzymatic properties. All synthesized complexes were found good inhibitors against anti-bacterial and anti-enzymatic activity.
