Abstract
Background- This study was conducted with the aim to analyze the efficacy of different oral prophylactic methods at home during fixed orthodontic mechanotherapy.
Maternal and Method - To analyze the antimicrobial efficacy of different oral prophylactic methods at home during fixed orthodontic mechanotherapy - Sixty orthodontic patients, who were undergoing fixed mechanotherapy with 0.022” MBT; who agreed to be the part of the study were randomly selected after taking the informed consent.
Results- The study discovered that significant difference was observed (p< .05) for normal brush followed by orthodontic floss at baseline (T0) and T 3 (30th Day) for in Elastomeric Modules Group whereas for the Stainless Steel Ligature group; results were significant fromT0 to T2. (p< .05)
Conclusion - the current study revealed that orthodontic brushes were more effective over normal brushes.
