Abstract
With millions of devotees thronging pilgrimage sites year after year, the need to offer credible healthcare facilities at these religious places couldn't be overemphasized. This research paper takes a comprehensive approach and by combining literature insights with real-world case studies, authors identify the dimensions of sustainable healthcare facilities that can be offered to devotees. These dimensions are then converted into a conceptual framework that underscores the important stakeholders whose role becomes conducive in offering healthcare facilities to pilgrims. The study is relevant in the sense that it covers holistically the concept of Sustainable Tourism with specific reference to ensuring the health care and well-being of pilgrims. The research will not only help in upgrading the healthcare facilities at pilgrimage sites but also bring a much-needed boost to the health infrastructure that is required at all places of religious importance across the world.
